- In seminars and colloquia that offer the one-credit writing component option, students may earn this additional credit by writing a Substantial/Option A paper (ordinarily at least 10,000 words in length and undergoes a comment and draft process). This satisfies the Substantial Writing requirement for JD students and may satisfy the writing requirement for LLM students, if applicable.
- To earn the additional credit, you must register for the Writing Credit section of the course within the same semester the course is offered and by the following deadline within that semester; please refer to the registration calendar.
- If you are an LLM student and you wish to designate the paper as a thesis, you must also complete the LLM Thesis Certification form.
