Yuchen Zhao

 

Dissertation Title: Contracts in Spheres of Justice: Accommodating Private Ordering for Complex Equality

Biography: Yuchen Zhao is a JSD student from China. He holds an LLM in Legal Theory (2025) from NYU Law, where he was a Dean’s Graduate Scholar. Before moving to New York City, he earned an LLM in Jurisprudence (2024), an LLB (2022), and a BA in Philosophy (2022), all from Peking University. He previously served as an editor of the Peking University Law Review.

Research: Yuchen’s research interests include legal and political philosophy, private law theory, contract law, family law, as well as Chinese law and society.
