The Birnbaum Women’s Leadership Center works across sectors with an array of partners and leaders, in and outside of the legal profession. Together we problem-solve, innovate, and experiment — with a common goal of advancing democracy, justice, and equality for all at the local, state, and national levels and in the legal profession. We bring a unique combination of convening capacity, media prominence, and research and academic expertise, including via BWLC research assistants and visiting Fellows-in-Residence who contribute to this work.

As of April 2025, the BWLC is home to the Marcy Syms Equality Initiative — a leader in the movement to develop innovative, transformative legal and policy strategies to advance sex-based equality.
