Judicial Clerkships
The Furman program has an excellent track record of placing alumni in judicial clerkships. Furmans have clerked on the U.S. Supreme Court; federal appellate and district courts; state supreme courts; tax, trade and bankruptcy courts; and international courts. Virtually all Furmans who seek one or more clerkships get them.
Of the Furmans who have received clerkships:
- 18% have gone to the U.S. Supreme Court
- 88% have gone to federal appellate courts
- 50% have gone to federal district courts
- 40% have done one clerkship
- 49% have done two clerkships
- 11% have done three clerkships
