Co-author and NYU Professor Barry Friedman to discuss Open Book: Succeeding on Law School Exams (Optional)
Wondering how to prepare for your first law school exams? Join Professor Barry Friedman, co-author of the newly released third edition of Open Book: Succeeding on Law School Exams from Day One, for a conversation about strategies for approaching law school exams with confidence. Professor Friedman will share insights from the book and offer practical guidance to help students begin developing effective exam skills from the start. The first 200 attendees to join the Zoom will receive a complimentary copy of the book.

Associate Dean Paul Manrique will will kick off this session with a conversation about the importance of wellness and well-being as you begin your legal education and prepare for a career in the profession. Following Dean Manrique’s remarks, Jackie Cara of the New York State Bar Association will introduce students to the Lawyer Assistance Program and share practical resources and strategies for managing stress, building resilience, and prioritizing well-being throughout law school and beyond.

We’re taking Orientation to the streets and turning Sullivan Street into the ultimate outdoor hangout for our incoming JD class! Grab a bite from one of the food trucks, challenge your new classmates to a carnival game, and soak up the summer afternoon before heading into Vanderbilt Courtyard to snap a pic at the photo booth, listen to some live music, or play a round of cornhole. It’s an afternoon to step away from the schedules and sessions, let loose a little, and celebrate the start of your NYU Law experience together!
