Applying to Become a Tutor

If you are a 2L or 3L (or LLM) who has excelled in a particular course (taken at NYU) and has a knack for teaching, you can become a tutor to a fellow student.

Here's how it works:

  • If you agree to act as a tutor, you will be added to our tutor registry.

  • When a student asks for assistance, we will then match them with an appropriate tutor. (Signing up for our tutor registry does not guarantee that we will be able to pair you with a student to tutor.)

  • Tutors are paid by the Office of Student Affairs and are compensated at the rate of $15.00 per hour. Typically tutors provide 2-3 hours of tutoring per week.

If you would like to tutor for the spring 2023 semester please visit this link.

Please note: Students may NOT tutor in courses in which they are currently serving as teaching assistants.
