Frequently Asked Questions

I can't see my tickets for Convocation.

Tickets will be accessible through the MSG app, through which you should log in using your Ticketmaster credentials. Please log in to the app, keep one ticket for yourself, and transfer your guests tickets to their Ticketmaster account, which will be accessible via the MSG app.

What are the vaccine requirements for attendees?

As of May 11, 2023 NYU is no longer requiring guests and students to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Visitors and alumni will no longer need to show proof of vaccination. COVID-19 boosters are still strongly recommended and masks are always welcome.

I forgot to order academic attire. What do I do?

Academic attire will be available for in person purchases. Please visit the University's Academic Attire website for more information.

What is the length of each graduation ceremony?

We anticipate each ceremony will run approximately 3 hours.

Is seating assigned? My tickets have indicated seats, rows and sections on them.

No. All guest seating, except for legacy and limited mobility, is general admission. Please disregard any row, section or seats on your tickets from MSG.

Do I need a ticket to enter?

Yes. All guests, including graduates, need a ticket to enter Convocation. Please retain one ticket for yourself.

NYU strictly prohibits the direct or indirect sale or auction of Convocation tickets. Tickets are free and available only to eligible candidates in the Class of 2026 and their guests. Graduates should only claim the number of guest tickets they will need for their own guests. Ticket(s) may not be used for advertising, promotion, or other trade or commercial purposes. Students engaging in such activities, as well as any other activity that disrupts the administration of the ceremony and/or any NYU student conduct policy, will be subject to NYU disciplinary sanctions.
