Commencement and Convocation ceremonies honor graduating students on May 20 and 21

On Wednesday, May 20, the 183rd All University Commencement will be held at Yankee Stadium, where family, friends, and other guests will honor the more than 8,000 students expected to attend. The president and director-counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Sherrilyn Ifill ’87, who addressed graduands at NYU School of Law’s Convocation last year, will speak and receive a Doctor of Laws degree, honoris causa.

On Thursday, May 21, NYU Law will hold its JD and LLM/JSD Convocation ceremonies at the Beacon Theatre. Preet Bharara, US Attorney for the Southern District of New York, will address graduating JD students in the morning, and Anthony Appiah, Professor of Philosophy and Law at NYU Law, will speak to LLM and JSD graduands in the afternoon.
