Catherine Sharkey delivers a four-lecture series on tort law for the Brazilian Bar Association

On October 16 and 17, Catherine Sharkey, Crystal Eastman Professor of Law, gave a series of four lectures on US tort law in Curitiba, Brazil, at the invitation of the Brazilian Bar Association (Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil).

As part of the Third Symposium on Civil Responsibility: Compensation Claims in the United States and Brazil, she discussed tort litigation in the US, causation and issues of proof, damages, and case studies. Each lecture was followed by a debate, with a state appellate judge serving as a commentator. These were Judge Luiz Osorio Moraes Panza, Judge Lilian Romero, Judge Ângela Khury, and Judge Salvatore Antonio Astuti.
