Scott Hechinger '10 named 2010 Sinsheimer Children's Rights Fellow

This fall, Scott Hechinger '10, will become the Sinsheimer Children's Rights Fellow at the Partnership for Children’s Rights (PFCR). Each year PFCR chooses among recent NYU School of Law graduates, or NYU graduates completing clerkships, for a paid one-year fellowship. The Fellow represents low-income special needs children in administrative hearings seeking education and services from the NYC Department of Education and in child disability issues brought against Social Security. A magna cum laude graduate of Duke University, before coming to NYU Law School Hechinger founded and directed All Day Buffet, a multi-city social action network for young adults raising awareness and funds for important causes.“I see the Sinsheimer Fellowship as a convergence of two important issues—public education and direct representation—and I relish the fact that I’ll be in a position to listen and learn from individuals who deserve the best and to help them,” Hechinger said.
