NYU School of Law welcomes Chief Justice John Roberts

Chief Justice John Roberts, Jr. of the US Supreme Court was the featured guest at an event co-hosted by the Historical Society of the New York Courts and the Supreme Court Historical Society on November 20. The event was part of a series called Nominated From New York: The Empire State’s Contributions to the Supreme Court Bench and it focused on Charles Evans Hughes, who served as chief justice of the United States from 1930 to 1941. Following his remarks on Hughes, Chief Judge Robert Katzmann of the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, an adjunct professor, interviewed Roberts. Chief Judge Jonathan Lippman '68 of the State of New York introduced the evening’s program. The event was held at NYU School of Law. The Law School also hosted a small reception for the chief justice at which he made informal remarks and took questions from students.
