Applicants who are interested in applying for the JD Nonmatriculant/LLM in Taxation must submit the Special Advanced Standing application.
JD Nonmatriculant/LLM in Taxation Dual Degree
Applicants for the JD Nonmatriculant/LLM in Taxation degree must have completed two full years (at least 55, but no more than 60 credits) at other approved law schools and must have permission of their law schools to enroll as nonmatriculants. Admitted students are considered nonmatriculants at NYU School of Law for their third year (5th and 6th semesters) and receive their JD degrees from their home schools. Students are considered matriculated in the LLM program at NYU School of Law for the 7th semester and receive the LLM degree from NYU School of Law. Admission to the 7th semester (LLM portion) is subject to satisfactory academic performance in the 5th and 6th semesters. Dual degree students must enroll for three semesters on a full-time basis beginning in the fall semester only.
The deadline to apply for the JD Nonmatriculant/LLM in Taxation Dual Degree program is April 1. All supporting materials must be received by April 15.
