JD/LLM in Taxation

JD Nonmatriculant/LLM in Taxation Dual Degree Admission

Applicants for the JD Nonmatriculant/LLM in Taxation degree must have completed two full years (at least 55, but no more than 60 credits) at other ABA approved law schools and must have permission of their law schools to enroll as nonmatriculants. Admitted students are considered nonmatriculants at NYU School of Law for their third year (5th and 6th semesters) and receive their JD degrees from their home schools. Students are considered matriculated in the LLM program at NYU School of Law for the 7th semester and receive the LLM degree from NYU School of Law. Admission to the 7th semester (LLM portion) is subject to satisfactory academic performance in the 5th and 6th semesters. Dual degree students must enroll for three semesters on a full-time basis beginning in the fall semester only.

JD Nonmatriculant/LLM-Taxation Application

Candidates for the JD/LLM in Taxation program must submit a Special Advanced Standing application. The Special Advanced Standing online application for fall 2024 JD Nonmatriculant/LLM in Taxation Dual Degree admission will be available May 1. 

JD Nonmatriculant/LLM-Taxation Deadline

The application filing deadline for the  JD Nonmatriculant/LLM in Taxation Dual Degree program is June 30.  All supporting materials must be received by June 30.

Official Transcripts for JD Nonmatriculant/LLM-Taxation

Applicants for the JD Nonmatriculant/LLM in Taxation must submit an official transcript showing grades for at least three semesters. In some cases, applicants will be asked to submit grades for their fourth semester's work before a final decision is reached.
