Reference Service

When classes are in session, Law Library Librarians are available for reference service Monday through Friday -- you can get in contact via email, chat/text, phone, or in-person. Details about in-person reference desk coverage will be posted on the Library website when available. Their team aims to respond within twenty-four hours of receipt of an inquiry when school is in session.

Research Consultations

Reference librarians are also available for in-depth research consultations on complex research topics. Schedule a one-on-one session with a reference librarian

Tax Research Access and Training

The Graduate Tax Program will provide information on database access and tax research workshops via the tax orientation website in Brightspace.

Westlaw, Lexis Advance & Bloomberg Law

Access and Passwords:

The Law Library provides LLM students with Westlaw, Lexis Advance, and Bloomberg Law passwords for educational purposes only. Passwords will be distributed in-person at the beginning of the semester. LLM students who do not obtain their activation codes or have difficulty registering their passwords can email Linda Ramsingh, or reach out to pertinent database representatives listed below.

Passwords for these research platforms are only available for Law School faculty and students, a policy mandated by the databases.

Database Training:

Training opportunities offered by Westlaw, Lexis Advance and Bloomberg Law will be posted on the database platforms on the web pages referenced below, including any that may be held in person at the Library. Student representatives are also listed on those web-pages. LLM students should be logged into the databases to access the content on those pages.

Research Guides

Research guides provide helpful access points for the Library’s resources. Guides provide advice on researching specific U.S. and foreign and international topics, as well on performing research tasks that span subjects, such as finding books and articles. Law library research guides are found on the Law Library web page for research guides.

Library Access

The latest information on the Law Library’s physical space, including hours and access, will be available on the Law Library home page. Information on the website will be updated as information evolves.
