Taking Your Courses In-person (Hybrid/Blended Learning)

NYU is helping to keep the community safe by designing classrooms to accommodate physical distancing. If you are taking an in-person or blended course for the Spring 2021 semester and will be attending your class in-person, you will be asked to use a new Seating Assignments tool in NYU Classes, located in the left menu of your NYU Classes course site, to select and record the seat that you will use for the duration of the semester. This information will be visible to both you and your instructor.

Click here for information on NYU Returns and classrooms.

Note: Seat assignments should be made and entered in NYU Classes at the start of the first in-person class and no sooner.

Entering your Seat Assignment

At the start of the first in-person class, you will be asked to locate and select your seat assignment. Your seat will be numbered. You may then record your seat assignment in NYU Classes. To do so:

  1. Navigate to NYU Classes on your computer / mobile device, and locate your course site.

Note: If you cannot locate your course site, contact your instructor, as the site may not yet be available to you.

  2. Click on the Seating Assignments tool in the left menu of your course site.

  3. You will see a simple tool indicating your course section, classroom, and meeting schedule.

  5. Enter your seat number as it displays on or beneath your seat, then click Save.

Once your seat is saved, you will have 5 minutes to make further edits if needed. If you need to make changes at any point in the future, contact your instructor.
