Exam Rules to Know Before Your Begin
1. If your computer malfunctions during the exam, please contact the Helpdesk. The proctor/ ITS virtual room will note the time of your computer malfunction.
- For those in Furman or Vanderbilt Hall optional assigned classrooms—please go to a proctor in the hallway who will escort you to ITS for assistance.
- For those off-site, please join the Virtual Help room for exams.
2. Please turn off all cell phones and other electronic equipment not authorized for the exam, except standard calculators and laptop computers, and keep them off during the exams (including when leaving the exam room). In addition, the use of headphones, earphones, or other devices (other than basic earplugs) is prohibited.
3. You may use the bathroom at your discretion, but your clock is still running. (If you have break time per a Moses Center accommodation, you may use that break time at your discretion.)
4. Once you open your exam questions, there will be no more talking in the room.
5. Ideally, you will examine alone with no one else in the room; if you are in a classroom or other space with additional people, know that your EMS footage will be reviewed more closely.
6. Foreign language dictionaries, including electronic dictionaries, are allowed unless the professor specifically prohibits them.
7. Please check your clock; your exam begins promptly at the designated time. There is NO window for fixed scheduled take-home exams. The exact times noted apply.
8. If you discover a typographical error on your exam questions, you should make an assumption, state the assumption in your answer and continue working.
9. When your time is up, you must stop working on your exam immediately; no typing other than to exit and submit the exam.
