Welcoming new arrivals to campus

On August 21, in remarks on the first day of JD Orientation, Dean Trevor Morrison greeted the Class of 2022 and welcomed the students to the NYU Law community. “If you look to your left and to your right,” Morrison said, “you will see not only people you will get to know well as friends and colleagues, as confidants, as sources of inspiration and instruction over the course of your three years here at law school, but you are in many ways meeting a big part of the professional network and the friendship network that you will carry for the rest of your careers—maybe for the rest of your lives.”

The process of getting to know classmates and other Law School community members continued throughout the events of Orientation week, which included a Taste of New York–themed dinner, an ice cream social, and the Diversity Welcome Reception sponsored by the Law Alumni of Color Association (LACA) and the Law Alumni Association (LAA).
