Lionel Yee Woon Chin (LL.M. '99) becomes Singapore's second solicitor general

On January 1, Lionel Yee Woon Chin (LL.M. '99) took office as Singapore’s second solicitor general. Yee takes over a position that has been unfilled since 2007 and will serve an initial term of three years. Along with Solicitor-General Koh Juat Jong, Yee will assist Attorney General Sundaresh Menon.

Yee first worked with the ACG in 1991, and held numerous positions there before moving to Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he held the position of Legal Adviser to the Permanent Mission of Singapore to the United Nations in New York. Yee returned to the AGC in 2001 and served in the International Affairs Division and the Criminal Justice Division until his promotion to director-general of the International Affairs Division in July 2008, a position he will retain.
