Rejuvenated Sudler Lobby is officially dedicated

On October 3, members of the NYU School of Law Board of Trustees, Dean Trevor Morrison, Dean Emeritus Richard Revesz, and guests celebrated the official opening of Vanderbilt Hall’s newly refurbished Sudler Lobby. The improvements to the lobby between Greenberg Lounge and Tishman Auditorium were made possible by the generosity of Peter ’73 and Eileen ’74 Sudler, both Law School trustees. The Sudlers attended the dedication with daughter Elizabeth ’06 and son Daniel.

The focal point of the Sudler Lobby is a 70-inch high-definition monitor with a slideshow of nearly 150 accomplished alumnae judges. The renovated space is also graced with new trim, chandeliers, plaster, and paint. “The result of all this,” said Morrison in his ceremonial remarks, “is—thanks to an incredible team of people—a beautiful area in which to welcome everyone, from new students to heads of state.” Anthony Welters ’77, chair of the Board of Trustees, then gave a champagne toast before Peter and Eileen Sudler cut the ribbon together with specially engraved scissors.
