2026 Law Revue parodies horror films in ‘Nightmare on 1LM Street’

In performances on April 10 and 11, NYU Law’s annual Law Revue presented a dark and snarky musical, Nightmare on 1LM Street, in which a group of law students face attacks by administrators and alumni aiming to complete “the ritual.”

The performance very loosely parodied the 1984 Wes Craven film A Nightmare on Elm Street. In the Law Revue version, five students–Virgin (Maeve Wiesen ’26), Skip (Cloe Tarlton ’27), Chad (Sam O’Connell ’26), Theo (Ahliaa Moore ’27), and Linke (Madelyn Evans ’27)–are targeted by a nefarious group seeking to complete a mysterious ceremony that maintains the wellbeing of the Law School. What follows is a series of supernatural murders—accompanied by catchy musical numbers such as “1L, Cravath’s Inside,” “Shut Up and Cold Call Me,” and “Just Be Sleazy”—before the surviving students unite to save themselves and the Law School.

The performance was co-directed by Ethan Malzberg ’28, Sam O’Connell ’26, Eloise Williams ’28, Shelby Hobohm ’27, Kayla McRae ’26, Christopher Arroyo ’28, Emily Ko ’27, Morgan Munroe ’26, Miriam Singer ’28, Carrie Mannino ’27, and entertainer-in-chief Charlie Driver ’26. The performances also included guest appearances by Professor Patrice Wylly ’15 and Dean Emeritus Trevor Morrison, Eric M. and Laurie B. Roth Professor of Law.
