Giuliano Amato

Giuliano Amato is Professor Emeritus at the EUI in Florence and at the University La Sapienza in Rome, member of Parliament for 18 years, twice Treasury Minister, Minister of Interior and twice Prime Minister of Italy, he also headed the  Italian Antitrust Authority in the 90’s and was Vice President of the Convention on the Future of Europe in 2002. Honorary Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, in September 2013 he was appointed Justice of the Constitutional Court by the President of the Republic and was elected President of it in January 2022. He is now President Emeritus. He has written books and articles on antitrust, personal liberties, government, European integration and humanities. 

He has previously visited NYU Law as a Global Professor of Law and a Distinguished Global Fellow.
