State Policymaking as a Vehicle for Racial Justice: How You Can Make an Impact

  • Tuesday, April 21, 2026
  • 1:15–2:15 p.m.
    1. Room 218, Vanderbilt Hall

This event is not open to the public.

On April 21, 2026, 1:15-2:15pm, in Room 218 of Vanderbilt Hall, the State Government Initiative and the Center on Race, Inequality, and the Law at NYU School of Law will co-host a panel on the increasing role of state governments in the racial justice movement.

As the federal government retreats from enforcing civil rights laws and cracks down on private efforts to encourage diversity, equity, and inclusion, policymaking to address America’s racial justice gaps has been left primarily to the states. This panel will feature people who utilize state government as a vehicle to fight for racial justice in the face of federal headwinds.
