As a part of the official program of New York Arbitration Week 2026, NYU Law's International Arbitration Association (IAA) will moderate and co-host a Joinder of Non-Signatories in Private Equity & Corporate Arbitrations Panel with attorneys from GNCI Law and Connell Foley LLP.

This session explores one of the most complex and evolving issues in international arbitration: the joinder of non-signatories in disputes arising from private equity investments and corporate transactions. While arbitration is fundamentally based on consent, modern corporate structures, investment vehicles, shareholder arrangements, and M&A transactions frequently involve multiple entities that have not formally signed the arbitration agreement but may nonetheless be deeply connected to the dispute.

The panel will examine the legal doctrines and practical considerations that may justify extending arbitration agreements to non-signatories. It will also address how different jurisdictions and arbitral institutions approach these issues, as well as the strategic implications for investors, sponsors, portfolio companies, and other stakeholders.

This event is open to both NYU Law students and the public. The registration link will open on October 9, 2026.
