Please join us for the NYU Furman Center’s special online forum By the Numbers: Focus on Eviction. The event will feature the digital release of the Furman Center’s annual State of New York City's Housing and Neighborhoods in 2019 report, and a panel discussion of the report’s Focus Chapter on The State of Eviction Filings in New York City.

This year’s Focus report on eviction comes amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Across the nation, local policymakers are working to respond both to the public health and economic crises faced by millions of residents who have experienced income loss. Policymakers and advocates are concerned about a potential surge in residential instability when eviction moratoriums currently in place are lifted.

Our expert panel will discuss the data on New York City eviction filing trends between 2010 and today, and explore how cities can prepare to address the challenges faced by renters, landlords, and housing courts when eviction moratoria end.

Panelists will include:
- Maria Torres-Springer, Vice-President for U.S. Programs, Ford Foundation (Moderator)
- Ira Goldstein, President of Policy Solutions, The Reinvestment Fund, Philadelphia, PA
- Adriene Holder, Attorney-in-Charge, Civil Practice, The Legal Aid Society, New York City
- Linda Mandolini, President, Eden Housing, Hayward, CA

Registration is required.
