The NYU Environmental Law Society, the State Energy & Environmental Impact Center, the Environmental and Climate Justice Initiative at NYU Law, and the Global Justice Center are pleased to announce a joint networking and CLE-credit* eligible event on September 1st, 2026 at NYU School of Law.
The schedule of the event is as follows:
- 6:00-6:30 pm: Welcome reception
- 6:30-7:30 pm: Panel discussion on pro bono service and environmental justice.
- 7:30-8:00 pm: Meet and greet
The panel will feature distinguished NYU faculty, including Marianne Engelman-Lado, Director of the NYU Environmental Justice Initiative; César Rodríguez-Garavito, Earth rights and human rights scholar at NYU Law; and Natalia Sorgente, Legal Director at the NYU The State Energy & Environmental Impact Center. Speakers will discuss the need for more pro bono work, community lawyering, and how particular rules, like competency and conflicts, come up in pro bono work.
This event is open to all NYU faculty, current students, and NYU Law alumni.
***This event is seeking approval for New York State CLE credit only. If approved, it will be appropriate for both experienced and newly admitted attorneys.
