  • Wednesday, October 28, 2026
  • 5:00–6:00 p.m.
    1. Furman Hall, Classroom 212

Please join the NYU Law Federalist Society for a moderated Q&A with Sean Cooksey, Managing Director at BGR Group and previously Counsel to Vice President JD Vance, Chairman of the Federal Election Commission, and General Counsel to Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO). This discussion will be moderated by NYU Law's very own Richard Pildes, the Sudler Family Professor of Constitutional Law. Mr. Cooksey and Professor Pildes will discuss campaign finance and other election law topics from the 2026 midterm cycle, such as implications of the Supreme Court's decisions in National Republican Senatorial Committee v. Federal Election Commission (striking down restrictions on coordinated spending between political parties and campaigns) and Louisiana v. Callais (curbing Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act).

Food will be served.
