Congratulations, Class of 2020 graduates! We are so proud of your accomplishments. Welcome to the NYU Law alumni family!
Michele Eddie, Director of Annual Giving and Reunion Programs

I graduated during the Vietnam period so we did not have a proper graduation either and in that sense my class is sharing what you have to face today. However, congratulations!
Alan D. Weinberger ’70

Congratulations on this great accomplishment and welcome to the workforce!!
Allison L. Friedman ’95

Although this is a tumultuous time to be graduating from NYU Law School, my class also graduated in uncertain times. I look back on my experiences at the Law School with great fondness and hope you will too. Congratulations Class of 2020!
Sandra Landau Rippe ’70

Congratulations to the Class of 2020. You are starting out as a lawyer at a difficult time. Be confident that you have a great legal education which will help you through the current crisis and all the interesting times you will face in the future.

Congratulations to the graduating members of the NYU Law Class of 2020 from a member of the Class of 1980. I received a fantastic legal education, as I'm sure you have. Best wishes for a great career... eventually (in this age of Covid-19 pandemic)!
Frank Z. Leidman ’80

Congratulations and welcome to the esteemed ranks of NYU Law Alum! I'm confident that NYU Law will reward you for years to come - in terms of the training you already received, the network you have built as well as the broader law school network you are graduating into, and the pride and prestige surrounding a degree from NYU. Last month would have been my 40 year reunion, which is absolutely amazing to comprehend. But my pride in the law school (of which I'm lucky enough to be a Trustee) has only grown over the years. And it's very clear that the stature of NYU opened doors throughout my long and continuing career. I'm even prouder to be associated with the truly unparalleled school NYU Law has evolved into. If I have one regret that I want to share with you, it's that it took me until almost 20 years after graduation to get meaningfully re-involved in the Law School community. Most importantly today, CONGRATULATIONS - take a deep breath and go forward into a world in need of your skills as a lawyer and your compassion as a human being.
Laurie Ferber ’80

You’ve chosen a great law school, and I wish you success and a fulfilling legal career.
Robert A. Goldstein ’65

Memorable Moment! It will stay with you forever! Keep in touch with your Classmates. They will make a special group of friends for life. Congratulations!
Yolanda C Leite ’80

Congratulations to every 2020 graduate! Those of us who came before realize that you are grappling new challenges that we had not encountered when we started our careers, and we salute your optimism, strength and true grit! We feel sure that the current environment will improve soon and that your first jobs, and the bar admission process, will return to a more normal schedule. Hats (or mortarboards) off to you!
Polly Savell ’85

While the ""business"" of the law has changed (even significantly since you applied to law schools), the need for capable and trustworthy lawyers remains. Congratulations on being better capable of being ""part of the solution"" instead of ""part of the problem."" Years ago, John Sexton reminded us that, if an NYU-trained lawyer wanted to work anywhere, they could. Not everyone should believe that only big-city/big firm or big-city public interest were the only routes. The NYU Law degree will always help you in navigating the coming decades, anywhere in the world. The best professional decision I ever made was deciding to enroll at NYU Law.  Over 30 years later, there is nothing I regret about that. Good and great lawyers have managed before to succeed in uncertain times. With the persistence that got you through graduation, you also will succeed on terms that work for you.
Chris Popov ’90

You have accomplished so much these three years and have created so many great memories. Your future clients and colleagues are eager for your help. Welcome to this new stage in your career!
Michael Szeto ’15

Congratulations, Class of 2020!
Rachel Presa ’10

Best of luck as you begin your legal careers. One word of advice from someone who graduated 40 years ago - make sure you find time for family, friends and other things other than the law to help maintain your wellbeing.
Jonathan Turkel ’80

Congratulations to the Class of 2020. Despite the challenging end to your law school careers, you have bright futures ahead of you. You have worked hard towards professional goals, but always remember the importance of work-life balance!
Susan Seligson Pattenaude ’85

Uncertain times test the strength of your support network. I know that NYU Law will be among those that withstand this test. Congratulations on your achievement, Class of 2020!
Steve A. Hsieh ’15

I cannot imagine a more satisfying legal career than the one I have had, and that career would not have been possible without my NYU Law School experience. I wish you all the happiness I have enjoyed, and hope you will cherish NYU Law the way I do, 35 years later. Best wishes, Jamie Mandelbaum.

As a member of the Class of 1965, celebrating my 55th reunion, I am delighted to welcome each and every one of you into our ranks as graduates of one of the finest law schools in our Country. While we faced the challenges of a country divided by the war in Vietnam, you similarly face a battle against a more pernicious enemy in the Coronavirus. I have every confidence that with the training you have received at our law school, each and every one of you shall similarly prevail. Good luck to one and all.
Bob Lieb LLB ’65

Congratulations to Class of 2020 from your colleague, Lawrence Lighter, Class of 1960.
Lawrence Lighter ’60

Dear Members of the Class of 2020,
I want to congratulate each and every one of you for your academic achievements and for graduating from one of the world’s finest law schools, the NYU School of Law. I cannot stress how important the Law School and its alumnae have been for me professionally and personally. My degree from NYU (LL.M ’75) made it possible for me to pursue an academic career, which I have found to be rich and rewarding. One of the most rewarding aspects of my career has been getting to know and becoming friends with generations of NYU grads. It is not an overstatement to say that most of my closest friends are alumnae of the Law School. Indeed, I married one!
Welcome!
Professor Noël B. Cunningham LLM ’75

Dear Class of 2020,
Congratulations on graduating from NYU! You have had a great privilege as an NYU Law student—fabulous faculty and wonderful friends. I am sure that you made the most of it. Your years at the Law School gave you knowledge and reinforced successful habits, preparing you for years of rewarding practice and service. The Law School has given my class of 1970 friends and me so much that it is hard to imagine what our lives would have been had we not attended NYU. You are embarking on your career in challenging times. Make the most of it!
Sincerely,
Chris Day, ’70
