Tell us the story of how you came to work at NYU Law? Were you always in your current position?

I began my tenure with NYU in the University's Internal Audit Department, where I actually audited the Law School. I was captivated by its collegial spirit, dedication to academic excellence, and commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive community. My journey here reflects a commitment to providing vital information, fiscal services, and policy support to the Law School community – with a smile.

What’s a typical day for you like?

A typical day involves reviewing financial transactions, refining budget plans, engaging in strategic thinking, and collaborating seamlessly with many departments. This is a dynamic role that demands meticulous attention to detail and adaptability. It's certainly not your conventional nine-to-five gig.

What’s the most challenging thing about what you do? And what’s the most rewarding?

The foremost challenge lies in the delicate act of balancing budgets with limited software tools. It’s like walking a tightrope over a sea of spreadsheets. Yet, the thrill of not falling into the fiscal abyss can be a rush. The most rewarding part of the job is working with a team of unsung heroes behind the scenes, making sure the Law School's financial show goes off without a hitch.

What do you wish you’d known about the Law School on your first day of working here?

On day one, I wish I had a better understanding of the diverse spectrum of personalities in our workplace and a manual on the art of soft skills. Navigating the nuances of interpersonal dynamics with finesse has proven to be a pivotal aspect of my professional growth.

What is your favorite spot on campus, and why?

My favorite retreat on campus are the two outdoor terraces in D’Agostino Hall (12th and 14th floors). Amidst the daily hustle and bustle, these oases offer a quiet space for a quick break, complemented by incredible panoramic views of Manhattan. It’s also a sweet spot to celebrate milestones for teammates.
