Confirmation of Assignment

The Office of Residential Life will confirm your assignment by sending you a Notification of Assignment via email to your NYU email account. All correspondence is sent to your NYU email account.  We will begin to send out confirmations in mid-June and weekly thereafter.

The actual date of application for those applying prior to May 15 is not considered when processing individual assignments.  Entering students are assigned via an assignment, not a lottery, process.

Applications from incoming students for family units, due to the fact that the demand for these types of accommodations exceed the supply, will be weighted on the basis of the geographic location of the student prior to matriculation at the Law School and the date of receipt of the student’s housing application.  All family housing spaces are proportionately distributed among the various degree programs.

Cancellation of the License Agreement is subject to penalties (See Section 12 of the Housing License).

To be without penalty, notice of cancellation must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on June 28, 2013, or the date indicated in your initial assignment, to cancel an academic year or fall only housing assignment.  Applicants who cancel after 5:00 p.m. on  June 28, 2013, and prior to 5:00 p.m. on August 1, 2013, will be assessed a $1200 late cancellation fee.  After 5:00 p.m. on August 1, 2013, applicants are responsible for all fees due under or as a consequence of the License for the entire License period.
