Guidelines

OCS hopes to enable students to achieve the knowledge, awareness and skills to handle whatever the next stage in the evolution of the legal profession will bring. By investing in career development programs, the world of legal opportunities will be yours to explore.

Counseling Appointments

Given the enormous volume of students and alumni, appointments with career counselors are available by appointment only. Although we do have drop-in hours, we recommend calling for an appointment.

Students should contact the office between 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday through Friday at (212) 998-6090 to schedule an appointment in advance. OCS must be notified in advance if the appointment needs to be cancelled.

Principles of Professional Conduct

All students must sign "The Principles of Professional Conduct" before working with OCS. Principles of Professional Conduct are based on the Principles and Standards for Law Placement and Recruitment Activities established by the National Association for Law Placement. New York University School of Law has provided specific examples in order to clearly define these principles. All students will receive a copy of this document for signature.
