Eleanor Fox profiled in Global Competition Review

After naming Eleanor Fox, Walter J. Derenberg Professor of Trade Regulation, one of its Lifetime Achievement Award winners earlier this year, the respected antitrust journal Global Competition Review has run a profile of Fox in its March issue. While citing her “varied and remarkable career,” the article noted that, for much of it, “Fox has continued to hold dear her work with developing countries, advising them on the establishment of competition regimes.”

Indeed, the very month the GCR article was published, Fox was in South Africa. On March 14, she participated in a workshop in Pretoria at the Competition Tribunal of South Africa, which adjudicates antitrust matters. And on March 16, she delivered a talk in Johannesburg sponsored by the Mandela Institute in which she addressed how competition law in developing countries, largely adopted from the United States and European Union, must be modified to suit the different political and economic conditions.
