Brazil: Looking Beyond the Crisis

On April 11, 2016, BLS organized the symposium "Brazil: Looking Beyond the Crisis", in which scholars, lawyers, economists and other prominent professionals discussed the current economic and political crisis in Brazil, as well as proposals for a recovery in both areas.

The keynote speech was delivered by Justice Luis Roberto Barroso (Brazilian Supreme Court). His speech notes are available at http://jota.uol.com.br/brasil-o-caminho-longo-e-sinuoso.

Moreover, BLS proudly brought to NYU Law Professor Milton Seligman, one of the most prominent scholars in the field of Governmental & Corporate Affairs in Brazil. Professor Seligman is a Global Fellow of the Woodrow Wilson International Centar for Scholars and a Professor of Insper in Sao Paulo, Brazil.  Professor Seligman's speech is available at http://www.law.nyu.edu/node/27059

We would like to thank our sponsors (Mattos Filho Advogados, Machado Meyer Advogados, Demarest Advogados and BRASA), as well as our media partner JOTA and the more than 300 attendees who made our event a great success.
