Professor Samuel Rascoff, faculty director of the Center on Law and Security, has been admitted as a life member to the Council on Foreign Relations, a nonpartisan think tank that examines policy choices facing the U.S. and other countries. Rascoff was previously a five-year term member. Before coming to NYU Law, Rascoff was director of intelligence analysis at the New York City Police Department and a special assistant with the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq. His expertise encompasses national security law, counterterrorism, and regulatory law and policy.
Rascoff is among a host of other NYU Law faculty who are members of the Council on Foreign Relations, including José Alvarez, Jerome Cohen, Norman Dorsen, Eleanor Fox '61, Ryan Goodman, Stephen Holmes, Andreas Lowenfeld, Theodor Meron, Richard Revesz, Cristina Rodríguez (on leave), Gerald Rosenfeld, and John Sexton.
