Since 1984 the Law School’s Loan Repayment Assistance Program has provided unparalleled financial support for our J.D. graduates working in the public interest. This commitment to easing the burden of student loan repayment allows our graduates the flexibility to pursue a wide range of careers in nearly every corner of the globe, from advocating for homeless youth in New York City to working for death penalty reform in China.
Now LRAP has taken another step forward. By integrating our plan with the federal government’s Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLFP) and the Direct Loan Program’s Income-Based Repayment (IBR) option, we are able to extend LRAP benefits to more graduates than ever before. Put simply, our improved program is the most generous of its kind.
So, if you are a J.D. graduate working in an eligible public interest position for 10 years--and earning up to $80,000 a year--it is now possible for you to have all of your eligible federal law school loans forgiven. Plus, in some cases those earning more than $80,000 may still be in a position to receive benefits. Get the details from the Program Description available on our website.
