National Jurist names Richard Revesz to 2013 Most Influential People in Legal Education list

The National Jurist has named Richard Revesz, Lawrence King Professor of Law and dean emeritus, among its 25 most influential people in legal education of 2013. Revesz served as dean of the Law School from 2002 through May 2013 and is the director of the Institute for Policy Integrity.

Besides highlighting his recruitment of new faculty, the National Jurist underscored Revesz’s fundraising efforts—over $550 million raised—recruitment of faculty, and expansion of the loan repayment assistance program, clinics and research centers. NYU Law magazine celebrated Revesz’s accomplishments in its 2012 issue, in a feature fittingly titled “Dean of the Decade.”

To compile their list, National Jurist requested nominations from every law school in the nation, and received more than 80. It’s editorial team narrowed the list down to 50 and then asked law school deans and others in the legal community to rate each nominee in order of influence. Revesz appears as No. 14.
