The 2008 NYU School of Law magazine includes features on the Law of Democracy, a burgeoning legal field cofounded by Professors Samuel Issacharoff and Richard Pildes; Empirical Legal Studies, an emerging discipline that engages numerous NYU Law faculty who use hard data to address real-world problems; and Thomas Buergenthal '60, a judge on the International Court of Justice who, as a boy, survived the horrors of Auschwitz.
