New York Attorney General-Elect Eric Schneiderman announces transition committee

On November 16, New York Attorney General-Elect Eric Schneiderman held a news conference at NYU School of Law to announce the transition committee that will recruit top lawyers for his office. Former New York Attorney General Robert Abrams '63 and former U.S. Attorney Zachary Carter '75 will join Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore as the committee's honorary co-chairs.

"As Attorney General, I am deeply committed to continuing the tradition of legal excellence and innovation for which New York's Attorney General's office has become nationally known," Schneiderman said in a statement. "I am confident that with the help of this distinguished group of bipartisan leaders—reflecting a wide spectrum of geographic and cultural diversity—we will assemble an office above politics and partisanship, that seeks above all to be the best public interest law firm in America."
