A new book, Making Legal History, honors William Nelson

New York University Press has just published Making Legal History: Essays in Honor of William E. Nelson.  Co-edited by Daniel Hulsebosch, Charles Seligson Professor of Law, the book collects ten essays that were first presented at an NYU Law conference in May 2010. Nelson, who graduated from the Law School in 1965, is the Judge Eward Weinfeld Professor of Law.

The introduction to Making Legal History states: “The power of Bill Nelson’s scholarship comes from his hard-earned understanding of the craft-wisdom of past legal communities, his analysis of the social meaning of those ideas and practices, and his ability to put it all together in imaginative narratives written in lucid prose. … The contributors to this volume wrote their essays with Nelson’s example and precepts in mind.”
