Franco Ferrari appointed as an editor of U.N. digest of law governing international sale of goods

Franco Ferrari has been appointed as one of the editors of the 2011 edition of UNCITRAL CISG Digest. For those who need help decoding those acronyms, UNCITRAL is the United Nations Comission on International Trade Law, and CISG stand for Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. The Inge Rennert Distinguished Visiting Professor of Law, Ferrari, was one of five drafters of the original digest that was released in 2004. Published in all six official U.N. languages, the digest presents selected information on the interpretation of the U.N. Convention on CISG, with the aim of promoting uniform interpretation of law in that area. The conventionactually a multilateral treatycame into force in 1988, and has now been ratified by 74 countries, including the United States.
