Faculty Resources for Teaching Online

This page has been created to guide faculty in using the University recommended, and Law School supported tools that will facilitate remote, online instruction.

This Activatation and  Zoom Getting Started Checklist has been created to work through ahead of the first full week of remote class session (week of Monday 3/23).

In the event that courses will be taught remotely, the digital tools used will be:

  • NYU Classes - the central classroom hub (each of the following tools has been added to and is accessible through your NYU Classes course site)

  • Zoom - the primary synchronous teaching and learning medium
    > Watch a recording of a recent Zoom training session

  • Panopto - the primary asynchronous teaching and learning medium (pre-recorded, and the repository of class session (Zoom) recordings

  • Attendance - when moving online, it is critical to keep accurate attendance records of both synchronous student participation (via Zoom), and asynchronous participation (via Panopto)

  • Announcements - primary class communications tool

Please review the instructional resources below for ease-of-use. We are regularly updated this page with additional resources and information.
