Sergio Verdugo is a JSD candidate from Chile. His areas of interest are comparative constitutional law, constitutional theory, comparative politics and constitutionalism in Latin America.
Sergio is also an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Constitutional Law (I.CON), a Professor of Constitutional Law at the Universidad del Desarrollo School of Law (Santiago, Chile), and the Instructor of NYU’s upper-level reading group about Latin American Constitutionalism.
Sergio holds an LLM from the University of California at Berkeley (2011), and a Master in Public Law at the P. Universidad Católica de Chile, where he graduated first of his class and received the “Alejandro Silva Bascuñán” award (2010). He obtained his first law degree with honors at Universidad del Desarrollo (2008), and his thesis was graded summa cum laude.
