Access to Databases and Data Scraping

Westlaw, Lexis & Bloomberg Accounts for Faculty
 

NYU Law School faculty and staff should contact Linda Ramsingh to request an account or to schedule training. Accounts are not available to non-Law School faculty, students, and staff, a policy mandated by databases. 

NYU Law School's Westlaw account representative is Shawn Lopez and Westlaw's customer helpline is 1-800-850-9378. NYU Law School's Lexis representative is Najdia Bailey and the Lexis customer helpline is 1-800-543-6862. Our Bloomberg Law account representative is Warda Khan and Bloomberg Law's customer helpline is 1-888-560-BLAW.

Faculty may access other library databases through links on Julius (under "Find Databases") and through links on the Library's research guides

Data Scraping

Generally, the terms of use of library databases do not allow large-scale or systematic downloading of content from a database, regardless of whether the downloading is through screen scraping or programmatic techniques. Please contact a librarian before attempting any data scraping on a library database.
