Fellows Program

In 2017, following the launch of the State Impact Center, all attorneys general and their senior staff were invited to apply to the NYU Law Fellow program. Interested attorneys general described their need for additional support on clean energy, climate and environmental matters, and certified that they could participate in the program under applicable federal and state laws.

**New in 2023! The State Impact Center is launching a pilot of our legal fellows program to support state public utility commissions. Please reach out to [email protected] for more information about the pilot program, and check back here for open job postings.

NYU pays the salaries of the fellows, but the fellows’ sole duty of loyalty is to the attorney general or commissioners in whose office they serve. All work performed by the fellows is entirely identified and managed by the respective government official. As employees of NYU, fellows have access to a generous benefits package, which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, tuition remission at certain NYU schools, and retirement benefits.
