AG Work

The State Energy & Environmental Impact Center supports state attorneys general in their work defending and promoting clean energy, climate and environmental laws and policies. Through our research, reports, and events, we provide state attorneys general with background on critical clean energy and environmental issues.

We maintain a database of administrative, rulemaking, and legislative actions taken by attorneys general that involve clean energy, climate change and environmental interests of regional and national significance. We also describe these actions in a narrative form, detailing the history of litigation, agency actions, and attorney general responses across different issue areas. And we assist interested attorneys general through our Fellows Program. Our fellows are identified and hired by state attorneys general offices, and serve as special assistant attorneys general focusing on clean energy, climate and environmental matters. NYU pays the salaries of the law fellows, but the fellows’ sole duty of loyalty is to the attorney general in whose office they serve. All work performed by the fellows is entirely identified and managed by their respective AG offices.
