Michigan AG Reached Settlement with Footwear Manufacturer in Litigation Over PFAS Contamination

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel reached a settlement totaling nearly $70 million in litigation with footwear manufacturer Wolverine World Wide Inc. over per- and polyfluoroalykl (PFAS) contamination of drinking water supplies. The settlement will fund the extension of municipal water service to more than 1,000 properties where groundwater wells are contaminated with PFAS. Wolverine must also continue to operate and maintain drinking water filters in other affected areas, and continue to monitor and address PFAS contamination of surface water.
