Massachusetts AG Secured Settlement With Energy Company Over Unpermitted Operation of Oil Terminals

Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) secured a settlement with Sprague Resources LP, a New Hampshire-based energy company, to end the company’s unlawful operation of two petroleum product terminals in Quincy and Everett, Massachusetts, without required state and federal air quality permits. The company’s operations contributed to ground-level ozone pollution. Under the terms of the settlement, the company will pay $350,000 in civil penalties and obtain the required permits.
