Massachusetts AG Filed State-Specific PURPA Comments at FERC

Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey filed comments on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s (FERC) proposed changes to its regulations implementing the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act of 1978 (PURPA). These comments focused on the proposals potential impacts on Massachusetts customers and the Commonwealth’s clean energy and greenhouse gas emissions reduction requirements. The comments highlighted the threats that proposal poses to project financing available for renewable projects and the lack of record support for doing so.
