Kathryn Taylor is a first-year student at NYU Law. She received a bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Computer Science from Emory University in 2017. After graduating, she conducted research at the Harvard Privacy Tools Project on differential privacy and UI/UX design. She was a 2017-2018 James C. Gaither Junior Fellow in Cyber and Nuclear policy at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Washington, DC, where she focused on encryption policy and financial sector cybersecurity. She subsequently worked on Technology Risk Regulation, Policy, and Strategy at Goldman Sachs in New York City. Her continued interest is in the consumer and civil rights implications of emerging technologies and data practices.
