Zach Bass is a third-year student at NYU Law, where he serves as Editor-in-Chief of the 10th Volume of the NYU Journal of Intellectual Property & Entertainment Law. Prior to law school, he assisted in the design and manufacturing of theme park rides for Universal Studios and Disney. In particular, he worked with the team responsible for Disney’s newest attraction, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. During his first year of law school, Zach worked for Judge Bernice Donald of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. In his second year, he interned with Winston & Strawn LLP, specifically working with their intellectual property and sports litigation practices under Jeffrey Kessler. And upon graduation, he hopes to serve as a federal judicial clerk. His academic interests include: Fair Use within the entertainment sector, the scope of trade design, artistic free speech, and antitrust. His forthcoming student note – to be published in the NYU Journal of Intellectual Property & Entertainment – examines the legality of Locast and the history of television broadcasting.
