Joe Adamczyk is a second-year student at NYU Law.  He grew up near Chicago, Illinois and graduated from the University of Miami in 2015 with a major in Biomedical Engineering and a minor in Spanish Language.  He received his M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University, where he studied global health and medical device design for resource-poor settings.  He spent a portion of his graduate studies at the University of Cape Town, where he prototyped a low-cost CO2-sensing endotracheal tube and a tuberculosis-killing air purifier for South African transit systems.

After graduating, Joe worked as a technical advisor and patent agent at a Chicago-based IP boutique.

He is currently a Desmarais Scholar, patent co-chair of the Intellectual Property & Entertainment Law Society, a staff editor on the Journal of Intellectual Property & Entertainment Law, and a member of NYU's Technology Law & Policy Clinic.  He hopes to use his education in biotechnology and global health to expand access to medicines and medical technology worldwide.
