NYUHome Account
During the past few years, the Internet has become an integral
part of Faculty, Administrators, Staff and Students' lives. It is
used for everything from enrolling in classes to finding out one's
grades, and especially as an enhancement to the learning process
and academic communication, the Internet is an important part of
life at New York University School of Law.
For all faculty, administrators, staff and students, an NYUHome
Account is waiting for you. It's easy to use, free of charge, and
active as long as you maintain your status. Use your account to
send e-mail, to exchange information and ideas, explore the Web,
download material from the Internet to your computer, create and
publish your own Web page!
To active your NYUHome Account you will need your NetID. Your NetID
is your unique identifier in letters and numbers for the NYU Computer
Network. Activating your NYUHome account will give you entry to
many new electronic intranet services that NYU is offering starting
this academic year. Students who already have accounts with commercial
Internet Service Providers (ISPs) should still activate their NYUHome
account as it will be like a key that you can use to find information
on the University's Web that's of exclusive interest to you.
Members of the Law School community can access the NYUHome account
from the computer labs and cyber café. As NYUHome accounts
come with NYU-NET DIAL capabilities, for high-speed PPP dial Internet
access from home, members of the NYU School of Law community can dial in from
a modem-equipped computer.

the Web without having to learn HTML. Blackboard allows faculty
members to administer online course content without the need to
purchase or learn a full-fledge web editing program. Blackboard
also provides access to numerous interactive tools such as discussion
boards, email lists, and online assessments that would be otherwise
difficult to set up. Assignments, articles, messages, video clips,
pictures, sound files, web site links and other information can
be posted online and be accessible only to members of the class.
Blackboard course information is linked to the Student Information
Systems. If you are properly registered for a course which has a
blackboard component you will be able to see the link under the
appropriate section of the NYUHome account. Blackboard is used to
complement ad enhance faculty specific pedagogical goals.

you link by telephone and modem to the NYU-NET. With this link established,
students can access the Internet to surf the web and check their
NYUHome account email.
The NYU-NET Dial Service for off-campus students provides high-speed
modem (56K Flex or V90 protocol) connections to the Internet, via
